One day, disillusioned by the way the world is, Pei Lynn felt she needed some solace. According to the signboard, the town they were in was so small the name was not even in the district map. Looking at the road signs, they followed the direction towards where all the religious buildings were. Pei Lynn was extremely surprised to find that all the religious buildings in that town consisted of only one tiny temple. Having no choice, she went into the quiet, surprisingly clean building. There was a man sitting at the far end, dressed in the traditional orange robes of a monk. As she approached, he looked up. Pei Lynn stopped in her tracks, astounded. It was love at first sight.
At least, on her side.
She pleaded with the old man, begging him, relating to him her months of futile search. But he kept declining, explaining that as a monk he had taken up a vow of celibacy for life, and he was not allowed to marry or even get a girlfriend. Pei Lynn's bodyguards even tried to sway his decision, but to no avail.
